3Good potential, bad execution, tricky install
By Fosters
I purchased this mainly because I have another older Valor indash in another car, and loved it. They sound good - one of the few decks sending some decent bass thru the speaker outs. For the price, the feature set is awesome. One of the better parts of this, I think, is the somewhat modular rear jacks, it has 3 wire looms on the back you can plug in or leave out. Really useful in cluttered dashes. It supports up to 32gb SD memory cards. Bluetooth has a built in mic, no longer the awful kind you have to route the wire for via the entire car. Unlike my old Valor, this thing also starts up in literally, no time at all.Now for the bad: It seems longer than the previous one. So long in fact that it does not fit in the dash opening with a metra kit. I'm going to try the Bestkits kit, otherwise i'm gonna have to find another vehicle to put it in. Right now, it simply hits on the ducting for the vents before the dash can snap in the last half an inch. This is in a 2001 Ford F250 superduty, I imagine a lot of the Fords of this vintage have similar dashes - the kind you have to trim to get this to slide in, in the first place. The second bad part, and this one was unacceptable, when I got it, there was something rattling inside the thing. It didn't take long to discover it was something on the bottom of the unit, and flipping it around to the back revealed it; the antenna connector inside the unit was loose. I popped the rear heatsink off - no warranty sticker on that one - and saw the problem. The 3 bolts holding the antenna connector weren't even screwed in, they were about 1/4 inch out. I decided rather than spend a few weeks on shipping it back and forth, to fix it myself. It was fairly easy to take apart, but I realize I voided my warranty in the process. I was able to fix the rattle and get it back together, but I shouldn't have had to do that. Luckily, I know it works as I had to test the harness before I tried putting it in.

4great love it few things i dont like but great product
By catherine
Pros; program the screen to my touch and notice passenger could not really use the screen cause I'm assuming their touch is different.. For you ladies; if you have nails like I do it works perfectly when you use them while programming the screen.. once program you can use your nail to touch everything and someone else with out nails will find it hard to use.. Bluetooth works great love that I can see some of my contacts Also take recent phone call list off phone and and puts them on the stereo Installation was quick and easy I did not have to modify anything truly plug and play Love that I can turn on the screen saver and the date and time shows up Volume, mute, off/on one Knob love that SD card slot is greatCons; You can not control the equalizer setting while in Bluetooth and I believe in Video Does not import all contacts when using phone You actually need to keep the remote handy. Its great that it can work with your steering wheel but you will need to buy another adapter for that function (Not plug and play) Bluetooth does not save previous phone linked to it.. if I linked my friends phone then link mines I have to redo the whole process of linking my phone again a big hassel when your use to it working a certain way on other players For some reason 3.5mm jack can not go all the way in with out only the speakers on the left of my car working.. I don't know if its me or the system.. so I just put it in half way and then the music comes out good The menu button and src button is right under volume knob so sometimes you can accidently hit it when trying to turn up the volume..I love this stereo the cons do not out weigh the pros this is just an awesome system love this... you do not have to a grand for a stereo cause it says Kenwood get this and you will be happy

3pretty good, not great...
By LostboyzKING
It is a good stereo so far but it has an issue with when I turn off the car and it stays at the same volume from when it was turned off. There is no fail-safe system to automatically turn down the speakers/system so you don't blow your speakers. I also have a problem with the functionality on the system, the blue-tooth is off and on, when i start the car it always defaults to the stereo, and one time when i was listening to a CD, it just closed to the main menu and froze then started playing the radio. I also found out that the MENU Button right below the volume knob doesn't really work. you have to press it a few time before it reads to go to the menu. Other than all those issues i like it, just wish it was better and worked like the web site said it would. Overall it works....def nothing special
