don't buy it

junk this was the 3 and final try with this model cutomer was unable to use this most of the time blank screen and funny noises

I purchased this DVD player to replace an existing one of the exact same model. The reason I had to replace it was because the screen turned black and white, so none of the movies were in color. I purchased the exact same model because I thought it would make it easier to install. I thought maybe the screen turned black and white because one of the vents for the rear air was blowing right on it; so I sealed the vent off thinking that was the problem. Then, the DVD player worked excellent... for two times.... On the third try I turned the DVD player on, and the screen was just black. I am currently waiting on a response from the seller to see if this is a commonly reported problem and they're selling the product anyway, or if the DVD player is being installed wrong and affecting the screen. Because I am currently in the market for a new car DVD player, but I'm not sure that I want to buy a product that only lasts two times and then the screen stops working properly. Hopefully it is just the way I am installing it and they can help me to correct it; because the DVD player itself is nice and it fits perfectly in our SUV. But until then, this product has 1 star from me. If the seller does something to fix this problem then maybe I will give it more stars.
