WRONG GPS

The price seemed right, but when I turned on the product, it gave the wrong location info. So I turned it off, went to a very easily identifiable street and number location and tried it again....SAME RESULT. Its location info is off by about a tenth of a mile. The map features still work OK and you can plot a route, but on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate this unit a one. Once you get your current location, it's difficult to get to the menu to get a route, etc. I tried getting info on-line to fix the problem...the pdf files are not helpful and there is no such thing as getting true on-line help. Pick a different GPS! This one is cheap...not just inexpensive!

Incorrect Maps!

I got this GPS at Rite-Aid for $59.99. I thought it was a great deal. When I got home with it, the maps were all wrong. I did a map update, but they are still wrong. Also, it randomly takes the road names away, leaving just a blank map, and they don't show back up for 5 or 10 minutes.EDIT 11/26/2011:After almost a year of owning this, the battery is now gone...it was swollen, so I got rid of it. The unit still works when plugged into the accessory outlet. The unit seems to give pretty good directions for this area, but the signs on the unit seem to be from another country. Still displays wrong road names for some areas.

I'm going to say this as nicely as I possibly can. This device is about as worthless as they come. It hasn't worked correctly since we got it, and now it doesn't work at all. The touch screen isn't even registering properly. Dealt with three customer service people who kept telling us the time was incorrect, when the time was correct. They couldn't even tell us how to reset the device, we had to figure this out by trial and error. They also informed us that because it was a gift, they couldn't help us. (our child has serious medical problems so we have to travel alot.) It wasn't even worth the plastic it was encased in.....the user's guides are very vague...and the touch screen is iffy on if works half the time. I will not be purchasing ANYTHING from Curtis again. Of the three customer service people we dealt with all three were extremely rude, interrupted in the middle of talking, and the supervisor we finally got to deal with ended up telling us that the time and date were set incorrectly so that was why the touch screen was not functioning at all...I suppose it will make for a nice paperweight.....I'm heading out to get something that's worth more than one star.
